Dr. Prakash Baba Amte has made a change in the lives of people who are alone. He is the second son of well known social worker Baba Amte . On Since December 23, 1973, he, his wife Dr. Along with Mandakini Amte, they run a hospital for local tribal people at Hemalkasa in Bhamragad taluka of Gadchiroli district under the name Lokbiradari Prakalp, and also treat the injured wild animals brought by the people.
Dr. Prakash Amte’s film on the life and work of Prakash Amte: The Real Hero was released on October 10, 2014. The film stars Nana Patekar as Prakash Amte, Sonali Kulkarni , Mohan Agashe , Tejashree Pradhan and 200 Gond tribal artists. The film is available in both Hindi and Marathi. Directed and produced by Advocate Samrudhi Pore.
Apart from this, there is a Hindi film on his life called ‘Hemalaksa’. The film is likely to be nominated for an Oscar.
